The length and strength of detoxes may vary. If used correctly and consistently, detox removes poisonous chemicals, residues, and toxins that have been left in your body. Some of you may have heard of a book called “The Fast Track One-Day Detox Diet” by Ann Louise Gittleman. In this book, Gittleman explains an 11 day detox plan, during which you eat specific food for 7 days, then you go on a one day fast, and finally you eat particular detox foods.
When fasting, detoxers should note that drinking a tasty, spiced miracle juice can help prevent hunger pangs, boost metabolism, steady blood sugar levels and flush harmful toxins out of the bodys system. This spiced drink includes cinnamon, nutmeg and ginger, cranberry, lemon juice and orange juice.
A century ago we didn’t experience exposure to these toxic substances and chemicals. These synthetic chemicals didn’t even exist prior to the industrial age. Now all of us experience exposure to toxins in skin products such as cleansers and cosmetics, even tap water and the water we bathe in. It’s difficult to gauge the proficiency of a detoxifying agent to counteract these toxins.
When poisons build up in your system they can make weight reduction almost impossible, increase aging, cause asthma and allergies, as well as make you sleepy. Dandelion root and milk thistle are two powerful ingredients, in most detoxification drinks, that clean and energize the liver.
Learning how to detox your body does wonders for your system by allowing your organs to function better. When you detox, whatever you eat gets processed that much easier. Health advisors encourage a one week diet of raw fruits and plants, which, when supplemented with vitamins and green tea, can go a long way toward the detoxification of your body.
You can help your body to rid itself of poisons by changing your diet. For example, eating basic foods that are simple to digest allows your organs to work on removing toxins instead of digesting food. It can take more than four hours to digest a hamburger, compared to about 20 minutes to digest an apple. The raw food detox diet is a plan based on these principles. It runs for 5 to 7 days and is focused on “liver-loving” and “colon-caring” foods.
Effective detoxing requires consistency, preparation, and commitment. As toxins build up in the body over time, those seeking to detox their bodies must do so regularly and in a timely manner. Numerous options for detoxing are available, including daily detox drinks, supplements, and a variety of books and kits that include tablets, instructions, and dietary tips.
Doing a regular detox is best because doing so you can stay ahead of the game and keep these poisons out of your system before the build up gets too heavy. However when doing a detox you must be aware of the side effects that usually occur such as headaches, fatigue or skin rashes usually in mild form. This happens because the body is pushing these stored toxins out of the body via the bloodstream, and the body may react. The end result once the toxins are flushed out of your system is renewed energy and better health.
